Suppressed Fest 2026 Recap

integral vs thread on suppressor which is quieter

At Suppressed Fest 2026 on October 17 and 18, we ran three suppressed .22 setups on the line: the Vanquish 22 on a Ruger Precision Rimfire, the Reticent 22 on a Ruger Mark IV 22/45 Lite, and the Vanquish 22 Takedown. Shooters put more than 2,500 rounds of CCI Standard Velocity through them. We also let people shoot a suppressor we haven’t announced.

The hit of the weekend was the Vanquish 22 on the Ruger Precision Rimfire. Shooters came off that rifle talking about two things: how accurate it was, and how quiet it was.

What did Angstadt Arms bring to Suppressed Fest 2026?

Two integrally suppressed .22LR barrels, a Reticent 22 pistol setup, and one mystery suppressor. Suppressed Fest is a 100% suppressed shooting event with more than 40 vendors, three live-fire ranges, and ammunition included with admission.

Every .22 setup ran the same load, CCI Standard Velocity .22LR. One load across all three meant shooters were comparing the setups, not the ammunition.

The Vanquish 22 on the Ruger Precision Rimfire and the Vanquish 22 Takedown are integrally suppressed barrels: the suppressor is built around the barrel, so nothing threads on and nothing hangs past the muzzle. The Reticent 22 is a thread-on suppressor that moves from host to host. Putting both styles on one line let people feel the difference instead of reading about it.

Setup Host Barrel or suppressor Weight Setup on the line
Vanquish 22 Ruger Precision Rimfire 18″ ported 416R stainless, integrally suppressed 20.7 oz (barrel assembly) BOG DeathGrip tripod, US Optics SXR 1-6X scope
Reticent 22 Ruger Mark IV 22/45 Lite 5″ x 1″ Grade 5 titanium, 1/2×28 rimfire direct thread 2.5 oz (27.5 oz suppressed pistol) Shot offhand
Vanquish 22 Takedown Ruger 10/22 Takedown 18″ ported 416R stainless, integrally suppressed 1.44 lb Shot offhand

We brought the Vanquish 22, the Reticent 22, and the Vanquish 22 Takedown on one shared load, plus a suppressor we haven’t announced yet.

Why was the Vanquish 22 on the Ruger Precision Rimfire the hit of Suppressed Fest 2026?

The Vanquish 22 replaces the factory Ruger Precision Rimfire barrel with an 18″ ported, integrally suppressed barrel, so the rifle keeps its length and gains no weight out front. It was the setup with the longest line all weekend.

We had it locked in a BOG DeathGrip tripod under a US Optics SXR 1-6X scope. The tripod took the shooter’s wobble out of the picture, so what people saw downrange was the barrel. They were amazed at the accuracy, and just as surprised by how quiet it was. A precise .22 isn’t news. A precise .22 that quiet is what got people talking.

That’s the job the Vanquish 22 was built for. It’s the only fully rifled .22LR suppressor, and on a bolt-action Ruger Precision Rimfire it shows.

The Vanquish 22 on a tripod-mounted Ruger Precision Rimfire was the most popular setup on our line, and shooters left talking about accuracy and quiet in the same breath.

How did the Reticent 22 do on a Ruger Mark IV 22/45 Lite?

The Reticent 22 weighs 2.5 ounces and threads straight onto the 1/2×28 rimfire muzzle of a threaded Ruger Mark IV, so the pistol stays balanced with the suppressor on. For some shooters, this was the first suppressed pistol they had fired.

We ran it on a Mark IV 22/45 Lite, the lightest threaded Mark IV at 25 ounces. With the Reticent 22 on the muzzle it weighs 27.5 ounces, and it ran great all weekend.

On a Mark IV 22/45 Lite, the Reticent 22 made a 27.5-ounce suppressed pistol that ran great through the whole event.

What did shooters think of the Vanquish 22 Takedown?

The Vanquish 22 Takedown is an 18″, 1.44-pound integrally suppressed barrel for the Ruger 10/22 Takedown. The rifle still breaks in half for the bag, and there’s no separate suppressor to pack or thread on.

The best review of the weekend came from this rifle. A young female shooter fired the Vanquish 22 Takedown, lowered it, and said: “Wow! I like that!”

That’s the point of a suppressed .22. It’s quiet enough for a new shooter to enjoy the first shot instead of flinching at it.

The Vanquish 22 Takedown earned the best quote of Suppressed Fest 2026 from a young female shooter: “Wow! I like that!”

What was the secret suppressor we let people shoot?

We can’t tell you yet. Shooters at Suppressed Fest 2026 got to run a suppressor we haven’t announced, and that’s as far as we’ll go until launch. No name, no specs, no numbers.

Is a suppressor event worth it if you’re still deciding what to buy?

Yes, if you’re stuck between setups. Spec sheets tell you weight and length, but they can’t tell you how a suppressed .22 feels in your hands or how two setups compare on the same day and the same ammunition. A suppressed event puts both in front of you.

The comparison that matters most for a .22 buyer is integrally suppressed versus thread-on. An integrally suppressed barrel like the Vanquish 22 keeps the rifle short and dedicated. A thread-on suppressor like the Reticent 22 moves between rifles and pistols. Shooting both back to back answers that faster than any article, including this one.

Keep one limit in mind: a busy range is not a sound test. Other lanes, wind, and hearing protection all change what you hear, so treat an event as a feel test and check published dB figures for the numbers.

A suppressed event is the fastest way to choose between integrally suppressed and thread-on, but use it to judge feel, not decibels.
