For a .22 LR suppressor, not really. The primary drawback of titanium is its lower high-temperature strength. Titanium begins to lose significant strength above approximately 800°F (426°C), whereas alloys such as Inconel 718 retain their structural integrity at temperatures exceeding 1,300°F (704°C).

In practice, however, this is rarely a concern for .22 LR suppressors. Even during extended firing—including on a fully automatic firearm—a .22 LR suppressor is unlikely to reach temperatures high enough for titanium’s reduced heat resistance to become a limiting factor. Plus Titanium cools down quickly, so even if it does heat up, it loses that heat within a few minutes.

How does DMLS printing change what the suppressor can do?
